Upscale, beautiful eats in downtown Lewiston:
Highlights included tender beef tartare, tagliatelle, herb focaccia, fluffy gnocchi with pancetta, and a "crab beignet" dish that tasted like a crab cake and a hush puppy had a baby (in the best way possible). The cocktails were equally standout—especially the Paper Plane and a perfectly balanced Old Fashioned. Elegant without being stuffy, and every dish felt thoughtful and elevated.

What a great spot!! Lovely food, great service…we had a wonderful time and will surely be back for more as they change menus weekly! The focaccia, beef tartare, gnocchi were our favs but the sticky toffee pudding was out of this world! Fully recommended!

We had heard great things about Bistro Avera and we’re so excited for our first visit. We weren’t disappointed. The service, the food, the atmosphere were all incredible. The menu was amazing. The selections were well thought out and the presentation were picture worthy. The owners are so passionate and dedicated to providing expert service and a dining experience more reserved for big metropolitan!!! This is a can’t miss, get there ASAP, you won’t regret it.

bravo! A 5 star restaurant in town - great food quality, service, and ambience. The dishes were flavorful and exquisitely presented.
We ordered 3 appetizers (grilled octopus, beef tartar, and meatballs) and 2 entrees (duck breast, pasta with crab meat). The dishes are mostly Italian, some are French, some fusion with Asian cuisine ( a prior menu had chicken katsu and pork with honey glaze/ Asian style sauce). The waiter told us that the chef is Italian and had training in French cuisine, and the menu changes frequently based on available ingredients.
All dishes were cooked and prepared to perfection! Love this restaurant (opened last year - July 2024), which is at par with our other favorite local restaurant called Carmelo ( just a few blocks away).

This is a true gem in the heart of Lewiston. Great menu and excellent service. I had the veal piccata which was so tender and flavorful. The accompanying roasted vegetables and potato gnocchi were prepared perfectly. Presentation and service exceeded expectations. Our server Judy was friendly and helpful with recommendations on the menu items. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

This was my second time at Bistro Avera and everything was as good as the first. My gf and I wanted to take my sister and her husband to
dinner for their birthdays, so I thought of Bistro Avera.
First off, the service is incredible. The waitress ( I’m sorry, I am the worst with names) overheard us talking about trying to find the best spots for different ethnic foods and she gave us a bunch of recommendations. She was really cool, extremely kind, attentive, and absolutely precise with every task.
Ok, maybe the best Manhattan I’ve had? I love Prescott Provisions’ Manhattan, but this one is rocking with it. They change their menu frequently with new creative dishes, but I’ve tried 5 entries, 3 apps, and 4 desserts. All were fantastic.
Also, imo, crazy reasonable compared to a lot of other places with legit consistently really good food. It’s worth the trip, and it’s worth the trip to explore Lewiston as well. If you are local, how haven’t you gone yet???
Support local 😉

This place never dissapoints. We got there right at 5 for an app and cocktails. We were greeted and served by Abigail. The owner also came out to talk with us , which we LOVE this kind of attention...we follow them on Facebook weekly, we live 2 hours away and only get to dine here a couple times a year. Ever changing menu , the riblets are a must, and i think they try to keep that one on the menu. The beef tartare was amazing. And the foccia breaf is sooooo good.

First of all, our server, Judy was amazing! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and guided us to make some pretty great choices.
For starters, we got the Focaccia, Steak Tartare and Beets with Falafel. Our entrees were the Steak, Pork Belly and Black Bass. To end our dinner, we had the Chocolate Souffle and Sticky Pudding.
Portions and presentation were marvelous and we will be back again soon!

A wonderful dining experience! My wife and I decided to stop here on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic with incredible flavors and textures. You can tell the food was created with great talent and with an overall love for food in mind.
The service was spectacular. Our waitress was personable, helpful, and knowledgeable.
We will most definitely visit here next time we are in town.
